What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rock Climbing Associate position at The Fitness Equation?
The Fitness Equation is looking for a Rock Climbing Associate to provide instruction to youth and adult members on using our Rock Climbing Wall. The associate creates an inspiring, positive, and safe exercise environment to engage and educate members. The associate encourages members to develop their abilities and physical fitness. The position grows and maintains impactful connections with members and provides excellent customer service and instruction that exemplify The Fitness Equation’s ideals.
Responsibilities
• Implements and adjusts lesson plans for rock climbing programs to ensure the individual needs and goals of participants are met with their personal skill levels taken into consideration.
• Provides organized instruction in a safety-focused atmosphere to both youths and adults.
• Monitors training area to ensure safety procedures are adhered to by participants and spectators.
• Explains and demonstrates correct usage of ninja warrior and climbing equipment and facility features.
• Promotes and sells rock climbing programs to increase participation and revenue.
• Maintain a positive attitude and a focus on the member experience at all times.
• Present a professional and motivating personal appearance at all times to inspire members and encourage their commitment to their own personal health; be a role model.
• Maintain safety records ensuring that all members have a registration form on file.
• Organize and store any materials related to area to ensure a clean and prepared environment.
Qualifications
• Current CPR/AED certification.
• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs routinely as part of job.
• Excellent teaching skills, customer interaction skills, and professionalism with children and adults.
• Experience with belaying, climbing indoors, ropes course, parkour course, or related experience.
• Strong punctuality and communication with club management at all times.
• Professional attitude and an eagerness to share a love of exercise.
Preferred Qualifications
• 6 months professional experience as a rock wall associate.
• 6 months professional experience instructing programs to both youth and adults.
