What are the responsibilities and job description for the Banquet Houseman position at The Flanders Hotel & Condo Association?
The Historic Flanders Hotel is hiring for the part position of Houseman. Banquet Housemen who work in the hospitality industry are responsible for completing a variety of banquet functions, such as setting up tables, serving food items, maintaining the banquet hall clean and organized, ensuring customer satisfaction, transporting tables and equipment, assisting servers, and answering to inquiries from banquet patrons. Weekends are required.
Responsibilities include:
a. Orchestrate banquet room sets according to diagram or direction from catering manager (setting up tables, chairs, etc)
b. Set-up and break-down of beach chairs for beach wedding ceremonies
c. Maintain and cleaning all function room areas
d. Inventory and care for banquet supplies such as linens, chairs, china, glassware, flatware and decorations
e. . During the event, duties include assisting servers, transporting tables and equipment, reporting maintenance issues to management, and providing requested information to banquet patrons
Job requirements:
a. Able to lift and carry 50 lbs for extended periods of time
b. Have weekend availability and flexible weekday availability
c. The ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing)
d. Multitasking, reasoning, problem-solving, and paying attention to detail are desirable
e. The ability to maintain poise in fast-paced, high-stress situations
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
