General Summary: The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the administration of the Human Resources function including recruitment, selection, orientation, training and maintaining employee files. The HR Manager is also a member of the strategic management team at the locations served.
Embark operates behavioral health facilities across the US that support adolescents, young adults, and their families by offering a full continuum of care from Long-Term Residential and Wilderness Therapy environments to our IOP/PHP clinics to virtual outpatient care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responds to inquiries regarding openings and explains the application process. Reviews resumes. Conducts the initial screening interview for all positions.
- Proactively plans for strategic company growth in the local market.
- Works closely with program management to remain updated as to staffing needs.
- Manages and responds to employee disciplinary action and employee relations issues.
- Assists with scheduling and the review of new hire on-boarding and orientation.
- Educates and drives compliance regarding training and maintains personnel files requirements.
- Maintains a current electronic personnel file for each employee that is accurate and up to date.
- Administers changes and updates in the HRIS system.
- Communicates pertinent HR information to division, corporate, and program leadership.
- Coordinates background checks, drug tests, and all pre-employment related items.
- Communicates monthly with employees when training requirements are about to expire or have not been completed.
- Handles unemployment claims, worker's comp claims, fields benefit questions, and coordinates performance review process.
- Oversees and audits local payroll, submits corrections, and makes miscellaneous payroll adjustments.
- Schedules and conducts required training.
- Champions employee recognition programs
- Completes exit interviews for employees leaving the program.
- Other duties as assigned
What do you bring to this position?
- Knowledge and prior experience associated with HR management practices and approaches.
- Knowledge of federal and state laws governing compensation and benefits, particularly in the state of TN.
- Knowledge of performance management program design and administration.
- Knowledge of legal recruiting and selection practices.
- Skill in writing job descriptions, memorandums, letters, and proposals.
- Skill in use of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
- Skill in interviewing techniques and processes.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work.
Education and Experience:
Preferred: Equivalent of a college degree in a human resources, business or psychology related field plus a minimum of 2 years of HR experience.
