Job Title: Loan Operations Specialist

Compensation: Starting salary range: $48,000 - $53,000

Full-Time: 100%, 40 hours per week

Reports to: Director of Economic Empowerment

Location: Charlottesville, VA

Position Summary

Working with a team that has extensive expertise lending to formerly incarcerated people, helping them build credit, and achieve their self-determined goals, the Loan Operations Specialist will work closely with the Director of Economic Empowerment to centralize our lending operations in Charlottesville VA as we expand our reach to cities around the country.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reviewing and verifying all Loan Application Documents
• Conduct the Underwriting Process consistent with Loan Policies, Procedures and Criteria
• Interviewing applicants to determine financial eligibility
• Preparing and presenting loan summaries to the Loan Review Committee
• Notifying all applicants of loan decisions in a timely manner
• Facilitating loan closings and counseling Client Partners on policies and opportunities of the Fountain Fund
• Accurately tracking loan information in our servicing portals (Lenderfit and DownHome Solutions)
• Oversee the Loan Collections consistent with The Fountain Fund Collections Policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• Degree and/or certification in finance, economics, a related field or equivalent work experience
• Ability to be direct and treat others with dignity and respect at all times
• Proven work experience and knowledge of Lending/Banking
• Familiarity with computers and loan application and lending software
• Strong communication skills both written and oral
• Strong interpersonal / leadership skills
• Experience working with Accounting Software (i.e. QuickBooks)
