Full-Time
This role is the responsible for the global overall operations/manufacturing functions in the company. Responsibilities include overseeing manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, materials, procurement, production control and planning, inventory management, final configuration and logistics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Manages day-to-day activities of team managing the contract manufacturers for the company
• Responsible for all elements of the supply chain including functional areas of forecasting, planning, procurement, and manufacturing new product introduction
• Defines overall manufacturing and supply chain strategies to ensure the company meets its goals and objectives. This includes all decisions regarding make vs. buy, internal v. external manufacturing, as well as supplier selection and supplier management. A strong focus on key contract manufacturers is required
• Responsible for key operations metrics as follows:
o Timely delivery of products – delivery performance to promise dates and customer required dates;
o Product Costs – drives the overall product cost process, responsible for supply chain costs (including any manufacturing conversion costs);
o Inventories – drives inventory reduction programs and front-end planning with Sales maintaining inventory levels to appropriate levels supporting the business
• Responsible for driving overall product covering all key processes within the company including the key processes for new product introduction as well as all supply chain processes including Drop Ship Arrangements, Drop Ship Forecast to Sales-Ops, Material Sourcing, Inventory Control (Inventory Reserve, Junk Tickets), Engineering Support on Deviations and various reports (Weekly / Monthly / Quarterly / Annually)
• Department administration including budgeting, staffing and communications
• Responsible for the development of Buyers and other Supply Chain personnel
• Oversee all activities related to manufacturing operations including production control, logistics, and manufacturing engineering
• Serve as key member of the management team, developing the company’s vision, establishing operational budget, goals and overall direction
• Coordinate manufacturing production to ensure products are manufactured on schedule, within budget and to all quality standards
• Oversee the development of new manufacturing processes and technologies to ensure the long-term profitability of the company
• Employ strategic objectives as basis for establishing performance measures and incentive programs for development
• Plan and direct the layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods and workforce utilization
• Develop and maintain manufacturing operations business plan to include all program requirements, labor hours, cycle times and product costs
• Ensure that all assigned employees are aware of organizational and governmental policies, procedures and regulations. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
• Work with Sales, Finance, Product Management, Quality an Engineering on various projects and tasks
• Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
• Travel requirements of 2 weeks per quarter Contract Manufacturing Locations (Mexico & China)

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and experience will be considered
• 10 years’ experience in Manufacturing and Operations environment in a senior leadership role
• Strong background in preparing and presenting operational budgets
Practical/Technical Skills
• Extensive knowledge of supply chain, distribution, planning, forecasting, inventory, procurement
• Leadership and management skills.
• Electronics manufacturing experience
Computer Skills
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
• APICS, CPP, CRM/CRIM accreditation combined with education and experience beneficial
Language Skills
• Above average verbal and written communication skills are required in this position including above average ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos
• Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents and to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers or regulatory agencies
• Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients, management, board of directors and other employees of the company in small group situations, public groups, and/or one on one
• Ability to speak Mandarin and/or Spanish is a plus
