Program Summary
The Grounds Manager is a vital team member in ensuring all staff and campers are properly cared for. They ensure that the camp is ready at all times to be safely used. They continually survey the camp and report maintenance issues, create procedures to keep areas tidy such as bathrooms and the dining hall, keep inventory up to date and provide transportation.
Responsible to: Camp Director and Camp Assistant Director
Responsibilities:
Support the Administrative team ensuring camp runs safely and smoothly.
Assist office manager with maintaining office including inventory, cleaning and paperwork including daily meal counts for the USDA Food Service program
Manage Inventory of camp cleaning supplies needed for bathrooms and dining halls
Coordinate with Program team on supply needs
Supervise cleaning before and after meals in the dining hall including compost
Ensure procedures for keeping common areas such as the dining hall and staff lounges are followed
Assist with camper safety including water igloo distribution on camp and shared locations
Communicate with program director on special events and locations for proper set up and clean up
Supervise all camp clean up to ensure camp is free of litter
Report to Director of any maintenance problems
Responsible for camp van cleanliness and cleaning schedule
Provide driving services as needed for supplies or personnel need such as hospital runs
Coordinate linen needs for camp with operations including distribution on arrival day and laundry exchange days
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of camp.
Driver's license preferred
Excellent time management and ability to prioritize
Staff must be passionate about working with children.
Interested in working and living in the outdoors for the summer.
Emotionally mature with a willingness to work as a team player and to maintain a positive attitude.
Flexible and willing to accept challenges and step outside comfort zone.
Available for the entire duration of the summer program.

Employment Period: June 9, 2023 — August 18, 2023
Compensation: Salaries start at $2,700 and are commensurate with experience.
