Job Title: Turnaround Planner
Location: Whiting, Indiana

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Global Edge is an award-winning recruitment agency connecting projects worldwide with the industry’s most talented project professionals. Our team is currently recruiting for a Turnaround Planner for upcoming project support, including pre-TAR and post-TAR activities. The Turnaround Planner has a key role in the planning and scheduling of the TAR work scope.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Select/Define Stage
- Responsible for understanding the contracts between the client and all companies responsible for execution of assigned work.
- Contributor to the development of detailed job plans and work packages for scope on the approved TAR worklist.
- Contributor in reviewing TAR and Capital Project Job Notes for constructability.
- Contributor to provide construction, plot plan and logistics information into the TAR Execution Plan.
- Responsible for field tagging items on the TAR work scope.
- Contributor to the development and optimization of the TAR Schedule.
- Responsible for understanding and identifying potential work area conflicts and coordinating priorities with the TAR Superintendent.
- Responsible for understanding crane/equipment, scaffold and other TAR support craft execution strategy/priorities.
- Responsible to ensure ICCs and Permits accurately reflect TAR Execution.
- Responsible for producing MTOs for all Non-Engineered materials.
- Responsible to ensure that all required MTOs are purchased, delivered, and staged for execution.
- Contributor to EWO/CO process as needed to identify job steps and schedule impacts.
- Responsible for reviewing and understanding the TAR Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) Plan for the TAR.
Execute Stage
- Contributor to the health and safety of all TAR mechanical personnel, TAR security and the environmental performance of mechanical work for the TAR.
- Responsible for participating in daily contractor Crew Reviews and Daily FCM/SOC Audits
- Responsible for looking ahead to identify potential work area conflicts and coordinating priorities with the TAR Superintendent.
- Responsible for mitigating any issues that may impede work progress and/or productivity.
- Contributor to managing the work against the Select Stage Estimate and Baseline Schedule and notifying the TAR Superintendent and TAR Planner of all deviations.
- Contributor to monitoring the TAR schedule, identifying any issues and implementing recovery plans where needed.
- Responsible for ensuring that TAR schedules are followed, and all schedule updates provided to the TAR Scheduler are accurate.
- Responsible for schedule compliance, attainment, and productivity of assigned work scope.
- Contributor to EWO/CO process as needed to identify job steps and schedule impacts.
- Responsible for maintaining a daily log of Lessons Learned to populate Post-TAR.
- Contributor to ensuring that contractors and personnel follow Quality Control procedures as defined by the Quality Manual.
Operate Stage
- Contributor to Contractor/Vendor evaluations.
- Responsible for removing all temporary TAR installations and infrastructures
- Contributor to Punch List close out.
- Contributor to Post-TAR critique meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 or more years in refining, petrochemical, or utility plant experience either as a craftsman or supervising craftsmen.
- High School Diploma required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to motivate and get the most from contractors or crafts to create outcomes greater than achievable individually.
- Basic understanding of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (SAP PM, Electronic Work Preparation Software)
- Basic understanding of schedule development & scheduling software – Primavera, Microsoft Project
- Thorough Knowledge of process industry equipment (exchangers, vessels, drums, heaters)
- Thorough Knowledge of process industry materials (piping, valves, and fittings)
