PROFESSIONALISM

  • Know and follow the mission of The Goddard school of Roscoe Village

  • Demonstrate strong leadership, problem-solving, and coaching skills

  • Observe and follow the dress code as described in the staff policy handbook
  • Protect the privacy and confidentiality of information pertaining to families, children, team members, administration, and Board of Directors
  • Avoid behavior that diminishes the reputation of The Goddard School., while following laws and regulations put in place to prioritize the protection of children under our care
  • Model positive behavior for children, families, and other team members
  • Contribute to the improvement of the program by sharing and using information gained from attending Early Childhood conferences or professional meetings
  • Be available for work as required to maintain ratios and best practices
  • Be flexible to the changing needs of the team members, board members, administration, and Small World Inc. as a whole
  • Be open and receptive to feedback and suggestions from board members, team members, and other customers

CUSTOMER INTERACTIONS

“Customer” is defined as children, families, employees, board members, and stakeholders

  • Provide an inviting, secure, and comfortable environment for children, families, and employees
  • Respect the dignity and basic rights of each child, family, and employee without discrimination
  • Interact verbally and non-verbally with a respectful tone of voice and manner
  • Know and follow The Goddard School positive guidance procedures as described in the staff policy handbook
  • Greet each family at drop off and pick up times. Seek and share relevant information
  • Treat all customers equally and respectfully
  • Be supportive of all customers and their family situations
  • Prepare and distribute monthly newsletters and center activities
  • Attend three (3) community event and all The Goddard School events each year
  • Utilize one community resource per month (library, field trip, community resource, etc.)

MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage The Goddard School teachers and other team members
  • Manage daily operations at The Goddard School
  • Conduct family tours at The Goddard School
  • Manage enrollment of The Goddard School
  • Follow licensing regulations for The Goddard School
  • Conduct annual teacher evaluations for employees with the Executive Director
  • Maintain staff files to adhere to licensing regulation
  • Lead new hire orientation and onboarding
  • Attend weekly management meetings with owners

HEALTH, SAFETY AND NUTRITION

  • Compose and maintain allergy and special dietary lists, and distribute to classrooms teachers and cook
  • Review medical and incident log books
  • Ensure Goddard and DCFS health and safety standards are always met.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor's degree

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year

  • 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Chicago, IL 60618: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • CPR Certification (Preferred)
