`General PurposeThe Warehouse Assistant is responsible for assisting with the warehouse organization and inventory, and assisting Production in other areas as needed.Essential Job FunctionsWarehouse Management Assistance
Scan inventory locations routinely, approximately one bay per week or as bays are emptied and relocated, to improve ability to locate wood
Update Inventory System for wood being added or returned to the warehouse and assist Office Manager with inventory data entry, daily
Complete Work Orders, daily
Fill out Quality Control Checklist for every order, and turn in to Order Coordinator for verification of counts, before the carrier truck arrives
Pull milled inventory for milled orders as needed
Pull inventory/material for the molder, as needed
Pull inventory/material for the rough orders, as needed
Organize wood into bundles by specie, size, thickness and length, as needed
General
Assist Warehouse Team to pull and deliver correct grade and size to molder in-feed, packing and cabinet shop for orders require
Assist with order production at molder, packing and cabinet shop as needed
Pull Pack Tags from and Delete in Inventory or Update Pack in Inventory if only part of the Pack is deleted
Re-inventory un-milled lumber with New Pack Tags and Barcodes and Add Pack to Inventory System if combining and making a new Pack
Grade and make packs
Columns wide and boards high based on width (see ‘How to Make Pack’ chart)
Use strapper to assemble bundles
Assemble packs onto pallets for shipping
Record length, grade, # pieces on white tag on end
General
Clean up all areas at end of shift
Maintain safe Warehouse conditions
