Job Posting for Director of Activities at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Batavia
The Grand at Delaware Park is hiring for a Director of Activities!
Duties Include:
- Effectively coordinate service related activities to ensure organization
- Implement activities programs for Residents; focus on individual interests.
- Work directly with Residents on units; without direct supervision.
- Organize and obtain supplies and equipment as requested.
- Assist recreation specialists & set up program areas as needed.
- Keep daily attendance and document residents’ participation in activities.
- Assist residents to program location and return residents to appropriate units.
- Be familiar with established emergency procedures.
Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:
- Certification as a Therapeutic recreation specialist is desired, but not required.
- Two years of experience in age appropriate social or recreational activities program in a health care setting OR experience as an occupational therapist or occupational therapist assistant will also be considered.
- Understanding of the social and psychological needs of the elderly is essential.
- Clean driver’s license
- Strong computer skills necessary
- Positive attitude and energy is a must!!
- Ability to work effectively as a team member
- Strong organizational & planning skills; ability to multi-task
