Job Summary
The Quality Coordinator serves as the lead person responsible for the quality control activities associated with inspection, release, and nonconformance activities of The Gund Company products. The role supports implementation of the quality management system (QMS) at an individual manufacturing site within a global multi-site QMS. Team member works closely with the Enterprise Quality Manager to comply with customer specific requirements and to maintain QMS requirements relating to their functions.
Essential Job Functions
- Support site level Quality Management System maintenance including but not limited to:
- Coordinates and maintains non-conforming and corrective action processes
- Maintains established document control system
- Conducts Internal audits and participates in external customer audits
- Completes external surveys
- Is responsible for timely completion of technical functions such as:
- Calibration process
- Production Part Approvals (PPAP)
- First Article Inspection (FAI)
- Quality at the source (In-process Inspection)
- Receiving testing and sampling inspection
- Communicate and update quality objectives/key measures for assigned manufacturing site
- Conduct essential quality training needs for fellow employees, including, but not limited to:
- Introduction to Quality Management System
- Business Processes / Standard Operating Procedures
Participate in identification and implementation of quality system improvements including procedure improvements
Assist in team improvement projects including Kaizen events and other lean initiatives
Education & Experience
- Prior experience in an ISO9001 manufacturing or aviation/space/defense (AS9100) environment
- An associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- American Society for Quality Certifications desired, but not required: Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong computer skills especially with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Prior experience with data entry and report analysis in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
- Willingness to develop project management skills
- Keeps rigorous records with an eye for detail
- Ability to communicate expectations and instructions to team members
- Desire to identify root cause, develop creative solutions to problems and continuously improve systems and processes
