HJF is seeking a Transcript Evaluator to be responsible for providing quality control and daily processing of all student records. Implements process improvements and conducts daily processing of student related activities to ensure compliance with Institution, DoD, Federal, and State regulations. Assist in the OUR analysis and implementation of quality improvement. Conducts quality control on various student records tasks starting with the admission application process to graduation for all Uniformed Services University (USU) programs.
The Transcript Evaluator will create and assist with the maintenance of Student Information System (SIS) and TES articulation modules and tables for internal users and external transfer institutions. Assists in the timely processing of Articulation agreements for external transfer institutions. Analyzes and assesses student academic and non- collegiate records to ensure accurate evaluations of transfer credit.
This position will be in support of the Registrar office located at the USU in Bethesda, MD.
Note: This site requires that the incumbent has lived in the US for three out of the past five years.
Responsibilities
- Maintains transfer articulation tables in the SIS and TES for the university by entering new course transfers, and updating tables based on signed Articulation Agreements and Enhanced Articulations. Keeps current on all updates of articulation encoding procedures.
- Develops, reviews, and maintains articulation agreements with external transfer institutions. Consults with the Articulation Officer regarding academic standards, course content, and transfer applicability of coursework. Assists with instructing other members of the records evaluation staff on the application of articulation modules to the degree auditing process.
- Interprets, clarifies, and summarizes degree requirements, academic policies, and procedures for students, advisors, faculty, and other staff.
- Updates the USU TES profile with new articulation and transfer information. Works closely with adjacent departments to ensure website content is accurate, and effectively displays pertinent and appropriate information for both students and staff.
- Assists with testing articulation processes in the SIS and Degree Audit Software (DAS) environment to identify and troubleshoot issues. Review approved concurrent enrollment requests and apply necessary updates in a timely manner.
- Evaluates transferability of undergraduate and graduate courses taken at domestic institutions, with regards to the specific application of appropriate coursework to general education, preparatory, major, minor, and elective requirements for all degree programs offered by USUHS.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in a field of study related to advising; Master's Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Two years of relevant experience required.
- ERP experience within a higher education setting.
- Experience in higher education preferred.
- Experience working in a technology-driven enterprise.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust background check.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.
Work Environment
- This position will take place primarily in an office setting.
