Media has been an engine of growth at The Hershey Company for many years, but with rapid changes in the media landscape we must continue to further transform our media approach in order to achieve our ambition of being the preeminent media operation in all of US CPG. One of the biggest changes in the media landscape is the rapid emergence of retailers as media publishers. They provide great promise with direct access to known purchasers of our products combined with closed-loop attribution of our media, but their capabilities are nascent. This provides a huge opportunity for The Hershey Company to shape the future of this critically important retail channel.
This Manager is personally responsible for leading The Hershey Company’s strategic roadmap and integration of retail paid media. Accountable for annual and quarterly plans development & delivery in addition to optimization and measurement, across many key customer retailers across various classes of trade. (Mass, Grocery, C-Store, Drug, and Club) Key retailers include but are not limited to Wal-Mart, Target, Kroger, Amazon, Instacart, Dollar General, Sam’s Club, for our portfolio of Chocolate, Sweets, Refreshments, and Better For You categories, encompassing over 15 iconic brands (e.g., Reese’s, Hershey’s, Kit Kat, Ice Breakers, Twizzlers, etc.). Annual spend is over $50M . This role has 2 direct reports.
Responsibilities Include:
- Serve as The Hershey Company’s Retailer Media Subject Matter Expert - Serve as Hershey company leader and subject matter expert with Retailer Media Groups (e.g., Walmart Connect, Roundel, Kroger Precision Marketing, Amazon Media Group, etc.). Participate in annual JBP development securing favorable terms, strong support teams and leadership of product road maps. Establish strong relationships with industry and agency experts
- Lead Strategic Paid Media Planning – Personally responsible for triangulating omnichannel business priorities with brand priorities to leverage a fully integrated media plan. Partner closely with omni-channel retail leads to translate business priorities into media strategy to deliver business objectives. Daily planning, execution and optimization of $50MM in paid media spend including all search, on-site and off-site media in partnership with the agency.
- Lead Activation, Delivery, and Optimization - Apply strong oversight of agency to ensure flawless delivery and frequent optimization driving ever improving ROIs that deliver Hershey’s business goals of sales, share and profit growth. Be a trusted advisor to Omnichannel and Brand Teams and a strong collaborator with Agency Teams to execute these goals.
- Lead Retailer Media Agency Partners – Lead The Hershey Company’s relationship with our two retailer media agencies. Ensure strong partner performance and evaluate potential new partners on a regular basis.
- Build the Capability of The Hershey Company in Retailer Media – Serve as company Subject Matter Expert on all Retailer Media building the acumen of all Hershey employees as needed including the broader Marketing and Sales organization along with other cross-functional partners as necessary.
- Be a Leading External Industry Thought Leader – Become a sought-after industry thought leader who advances Hershey’s agenda in Retailer Media within the broader industry.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s degree welcomed.
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in marketing related fields.
- Must have Retail Media experience either as a client, agency, or publisher.
- Customer/Retailer facing experience a plus.
- Commercial experience with responsibility for sales, share and profit desired
