Status: Exempt, 10-month Residential, Teaching Faculty
Position Summary
The Hill School seeks a full-time Instructor of Chemistry with a start date of August 2023. The primary responsibilities of this professional will be to teach four sections of Science. The ideal candidate will be comfortable teaching a variety of levels of Chemistry and Physics, with a demonstrated effectiveness in teaching.
Working closely with other members of the department, this teacher will be responsible for classroom instruction, curriculum design, laboratory and class preparation, and taking full instructional advantage of the Shirley Quadrivium Center, Hill’s new STEM facility that opened in August 2020. The Quadrivium Center provides the modern technology, lab spaces, and additional resources that teachers and students rely upon for an ideal learning environment. The Hill School Science Department has designed its own multi-tiered and layered approach to science courses, including Integrated Science, that lead to advanced offerings.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
Ideally, a candidate will possess at least 3 years of experience teaching in the science classroom. The teacher will also be expected to undertake responsibilities that are normally associated with a boarding school, such as serving on various school committees and participating in the school’s co-curricular and residential programs. A bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred. Start date for this position is August 2023.

Salary : $44,800 - $56,700
