This role is part of the Lunar Transportation business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.
As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists and engineers, you will be part of the Mission Analysis team for the MK1 lunar lander product line. Mission Analysis SEs support the development of the mission concept of operations, as well as functional analysis and decomposition of mission activities across subsystems, vehicle performance analysis, model-based systems engineering tools, system autonomy definition, and mission validation. You may be assigned specific subsystems to integrate in our functional analysis flow or specific tools/models to develop to assess performance. Our team works closely with the Mission Operations team, requirements & verification, and system autonomy teams as well as all subsystem/Integrated Product Teams.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
Integrate various mission-level analyses and technical budgets and manage technical resources (e.g. power, data, propellants) across the mission
Define and manage system autonomy & vehicle behaviors (working with the flight autonomy and flight software teams)
Contribute to the mission Concept of Operations, including mission activity definition, autonomy sequence diagrams, Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tool development/maintenance
Conduct or provide input to system-level trade studies related to vehicle design or the overall mission sequence
Evaluate opportunities for improvement of future lunar lander variants and payload-driven missions
Minimum Qualifications
B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field
1-5 years of relevant experience in spacecraft design or operations
Strong multidisciplinary engineering and communication skills
Ability to solve problems independently and/or leading ad-hoc task-focused teams
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications
Background/familiarity in spacecraft autonomy/behavior definition or flight software
M.S. or higher degree in a related discipline
Experience developing or using analysis tools and programing languages (e.g. MATLAB, Python, STK)
Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools, particularly CAMEO
Familiarity with cryogenic propulsion systems, spacecraft avionics, or planetary lander missions
Familiarity with mission/trajectory design, basic orbital mechanics
Expertise in at least one typical spacecraft subsystem (e.g. GNC, electrical power, thermal, avionics, propulsion)
Compensation range for on site CO applicants is $88,440-$123,816
