Position Purpose:
Data Analyst, Labor Analytics - Store Operations will leverage their technical abilities to analyze complex datasets to uncover operational insights, predict future outcomes, and recommend actions. They will create data visualizations to summarize findings into easily understood, data-driven stories that inform business decisions. They are expected to collaborate with other analysts to promote and support analytically-driven decisions across the Store Labor team while continually seeking out opportunities to hone existing technical skills (e.g. writing SQL/code, statistics, data visualization, etc.).
Key Responsibilities:
- 40% Develop dashboards, reports, data sources, presentations and visual aids designed to educate, inform and influence the decisions of Labor clients and business leaders within Home Depot.
- 40% Execute moderately complex analysis of Home Depot’s hourly payroll and related business data and processes with emphasis on identifying trends, determining root cause of problems and determining solutions to manage them and that drive effective business decisions.
- 10% Support existing tools, dashboards, and processes while looking for improvement opportunities to simplify processes, reduce issues, and provide more value.
- 10% Develop additional technical competencies and subject matter expertise.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- Typically reports to Operations Process Manager or Business Manager
- No direct responsibility for supervising others.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance or related quantitative field
- 1-3 years work experience in data mining, statistical analysis, auditing, and/or forecasting
- Prior direct experience in synthesizing, analyzing, and communicating data to non-technical audiences
- Strong quantitative skills such as data analysis, statistics, and data visualization
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Basic experience in SQL/Big Query SQL, Tableau, and/or similar tools with a demonstrated ability to learn new skills
- Previous experience with Workforce Management and/or Payroll.

- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
