What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Informaticist Clinical Information Services Full Time Days position at The Hospitals of Providence - Memorial Campus?
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, assists in the design, testing, training, implementation and support of clinical systems for assigned site, ensuring clinical processes are accurately reflected and supported. Functions as the informatics coordinator of value realization programs such as Meaningful Use and other regulatory and quality initiatives. Performs analysis of current processes and new/existing technologies in order to assist in the management and processing of data, information and knowledge to support clinical practice and the delivery of patient care. Collaborates with clinicians and organizational leaders to identify data/information reporting needs, collect necessary data, analyze data and identify trends to improve organizational performance and clinical outcomes. Acts as the “Subject Matter Expert” responsible for providing insight into department operational and clinical processes and uses clinical process knowledge to integrate application use into those clinical processes. Utilizes a comprehensive ongoing approach to address workflow optimization and adoption. Assists in the development of communication plans and participates in communication activities related to clinical systems to all stakeholders. Participates in the design of clinical application education programs and is responsible for accuracy of training content. Uses a systems focus to contribute to clinical process discussions and works to achieve system-wide consensus. Serves as a liaison between clinicians, ancillary departments and Information Technology.
EducationRequired:
- A degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing
Required:
- At least three years of experience working as a licensed/certified clinical professional in a clinical setting
- Recent healthcare-related experience in clinical informatics, clinical applications analyst, super user, or training including clinical precepting
- Experience with or willingness to speak in front of audiences in order to train or educate, as well as comfort with giving one-on-one support to clinical end-users
- Prior experience with Cerner solutions and experience with implementing clinical applications across a project life cycle, including planning, designing, testing, educating and supporting functions preferred
- Organizational workflow experience and demonstrated success in working with change management preferred
- BLS (AHA)
