Job Posting for Associate Director of Communications for Publications at The Hun School of Princeton

The Hun School seeks an associate director of communications to support the overall needs and objectives of the School's Marketing and Communications team. The associate's skill set shall include strong writing (editorial and marketing) and editing skills, messaging, and positioning. The associate will work collaboratively with members of the Marketing and Communications Office, Advancement Office, and report to the chief marketing officer. This is a full-time, twelve month position.


Support the overall objectives of the Marketing and Communication Office:

  • Research and write for Hun's website, social media channels, and School magazine Hun Today;
  • Write, edit, and coordinate the production of various marketing materials to support student recruitment, communication needs for current students and families, and fundraising initiatives;
  • Serve as project manager and coordinator for School's premier print and digital pieces: Program of Studies, Commencement Programs, NextTerm Course Catalog, etc;
  • Serve as communications liaison for the Advancement team;
  • Coordinate and produce print and digital communications for select Advancement programs and initiatives, such as the annual report, Raider Giving Day, Parents' Weekend, Alumni Weekend, event invitations, promotion, etc.;
  • Coordinate and produce special alumni features and news series;
  • Assist CMO with all-School communications calendar; proofread and edit School communications;
  • Research and work collaboratively to develop a marketing strategy for the School's portfolio of Summer Programs and Camps;
  • Develop and execute communication strategy to Support Summer Program enrollment and student arrival;
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the CMO.

The Associate's requirements are:

  • Experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing strategies and relevant techniques.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with others to meet common objectives.
  • Experience or knowledge of digital communication platforms is a plus.
  • Familiarity with independent schools or higher education is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field of study.

The working environment is an office and school environment on a hilly 50-acre campus in Princeton, New Jersey. The abilities to occasionally lift files and storage boxes, walk up and downstairs, attend meetings in varying locations throughout campus, and continually use computers and related office equipment are required. Not all buildings on campus have elevators.
