Detailed Description:

• Provide technical leadership, management, and hands on delivery for a level 2 production support and development team that supports multiple emerging payment applications.
  • The applications are highly available and handle high volume payment origination, processing, and settlement capabilities for multiple customer and colleague facing front end user interface applications.
  • The applications are focused on new payment capabilities such as Zelle, real time payments, and other customer managed on demand/scheduled transfers.
• Diagnose root causes to complex technical problems like performance, availability, internal and external application integrations, database, middleware (webserver, application server, MQ), network, etc.
• Manage resolutions by clearly tracking statuses and assignments across multiple internal/external ticketing systems.
• Track issue priority using a clear understanding of root cause, functional impacts, and occurrence frequency.
• Ensure stakeholders are up to date on fix delivery status by providing reporting and ensuring issues are being properly worked in team's sprint delivery process.
• Perform application validation activities after changes are implemented.
  • This includes change task acceptance for implementation and validation activities for changes impacting our applications.
• Perform operational support procedures to manually mitigate ongoing production issues and ensure system is performing as expected.
• Create change tasks that comply with change management procedures for changes in our applications.
• Identify and implement production monitors and controls
  • Identify and prioritize Splunk, Dynatrace, and Zenoss monitoring needs.
  • Coordinate delivery of those needs with monitoring implementation teams.
  • Identify application logging enhancements (database, file, api, etc) with the development team that will ultimately drive the monitoring output.
  • Maintain evergreen documentation of monitoring inventory.
•  Use monitoring implementations to 
  • Monitor production (application, middleware, and infrastructure)
  • Ensure that production metrics are reflected in application performance testing
  • Review performance testing results
  • Identify symptoms and root causes to performance and functional issues 

Basic Qualifications: 

• Min 7 years of hands on production support for Java EE technologies that provide web services, file processing, and user interface capabilities.
• Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using monitoring tools like Dynatrace, Zenoss, Splunk, and log files to evaluate the health of mission critical production applications and to identify root causes for performance and functional issues.

• Possess 5+ years of hands on Java development.
• Possess 5+ years of leadership experience.
• Possess 3+ years of experience with querying relational database like DB2.
• Possess 3+ years of hands on Unix/Linux commands.
• Work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication.
