Job Description:
The JAAW Group seeks a skilled and experienced AWS Cloud Network Engineer to join our team. As an AWS Cloud Network Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing, implementing, and managing the network infrastructure within the AWS cloud environment. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring our cloud-based systems' security, reliability, and scalability.
Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain highly available and scalable network architectures within the AWS cloud environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system architects, software engineers, and security specialists, to understand requirements and translate them into effective cloud network solutions.
- Configure and manage AWS networking services, such as Amazon VPC, subnets, route tables, security groups, and VPN connections.
- Implement and manage network-based security controls within the AWS infrastructure, including access controls, firewalls, and network ingress/egress rules.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, identify potential bottlenecks or areas of improvement, and implement necessary optimizations.
- Assist in the design and implementation of disaster recovery plans and mechanisms to ensure high availability of network services.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers to integrate external services into the AWS cloud network infrastructure.
- Remain up-to-date with the latest AWS networking best practices, features, and services, and ensure their effective utilization within the environment.
- Document network architectures, configurations, and processes to enable knowledge sharing and ensure efficient maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members and participate in training and mentorship initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Advanced Networking, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.
- Minimum of [X] years of professional experience as a Network Engineer, specifically within AWS cloud environments.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing, switching, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with designing and implementing network architectures within AWS using services such as VPC, EC2, ELB, Direct Connect, etc.
- Proficiency in deploying and managing network security controls within the AWS cloud environment, including IAM policies, security groups, NACLs, and WAF.
- Familiarity with cloud-based network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Solid understanding of network performance optimization techniques and ability to diagnose and rectify issues.
- Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform) for network configuration and deployment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and troubleshoot network-related issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work within multidisciplinary teams and communicate network concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
