Responsibilities And Scope
Performs tasks with minimal supervision and makes independent decisions based on analysis, experience, and context.
Works in coordination with customer, wildlife and fisheries staff, corps of engineers, and Cincinnati staff on partnership projects as needed.
Coordinates restoration projects in forests, watersheds, wetlands, and streams.
Works in close consultation with partner staff to ensure project objectives and outcomes are achieved and acceptable.
Develops and maintains geospatial data on projects using Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers and Geographic Information System (GIS).
May provide technical presentations in professional settings and complete technical written reports.
Work within a budget to complete projects, including potentially negotiating and contracting with vendors, assisting with budget development.
Ensures program compliance with internal policies and external requirements.
May work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain and under physically demanding circumstances.
May supervise technical staff and volunteers as needed.
Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
Able to work in two stable work sites in Carlisle, KY and Maysville, KY.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or experience in natural resource management, watershed management, stream and wetland restoration, forestry, or similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience managing staff or volunteers.
Relationship building experience to work closely with a variety of partners, e.g. Media, government officials, internal scientists.
Experience completing tasks independently with respect to timeline(s).
Experience with communication via written, spoken, and graphical means in English and/or other relevant languages.
Experience using common software applications such as Word, Excel, web browsers, etc.
Experience in training.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must have a Pesticide, Herbicide, and Operators license or ability to get during the probation period.
Must be able to pass a background check
