Job Purpose
The Meals on Wheels Program Clerk is responsible for the data entry, record keeping, and customer service of the Meals on Wheels program for THE Kitchen.
Duties
Coordinate last minute changes in the day’s delivery schedule with THE Kitchen and the Volunteer Coordinator.
Assist in follow-up when clients are not home to receive their meals.
Ensure that forms are completed and distributed in a timely manner.
Perform annual reassessments of clients for TxDADS and the Area Agency on Aging (AAA).
Responsible for accurate, neat, organized client files.
When clients are authorized, make necessary changes in file and notify appropriate persons.
Deliver home delivered meals as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Meals on Wheels or the Executive Director.
Skills/Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited four-year college or university or have an associate degree with two years experience or, have a high school diploma with five years experience, working with people in a human service or medically related program.
Strong organizational and administrative skills
Strong background and work experience in an administrative field.
Must have the ability to compile, copy, sort, and file record of activities and transactions of department.
Operate office machines such as photocopiers, scanners, fax machines, voice mail system, and personal computers.
Must have ability to multitask.
Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.
Excel at operating in a fast-paced, community environment.
Excellent people skills, open to direction and differing work styles.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and be able to stand/sit/walk for extended periods of time.
Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug screen.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $11.00 - $23.00 per hour
