What are the responsibilities and job description for the Firestopping Coordinator position at The Korte Company?
The Korte Company is seeking an experienced Construction Firestopping Coordinator for nationwide projects to join our team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Establish firestopping program for projects including:
- Confirmation of assembly requirements during design and construction.
- Installation methodology
- Testing and verification plans
- Coordinate procurement of materials, installers and inspectors with Project Management Team.
- Submittal review
- Review and approval of site documentation.
- Centralized contact with manufacturers for EJ review and issuance.
- Training for project teams regarding procurement, system requirements, inspections, notification requirements and installation procedures.
- Liaison with FPE and AHJ.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE
Qualified applicants will have:
- Degree in related field or equivalent experience required.
- FCIA Level 3 Certification desired.
- 10 - 20 years of Fire Stopping/Life Safety experience
- 2 years of experience in construction field inspections of firestopping systems
- Fire Stopping experience on:
- Multi-story projects.
- Hotel and dormitories.
- Operation facilities.
- Experience working on military bases on NAVFAC and USACE projects.
- Willing to travel as necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The Coordinator will be in both office and worksite settings and is expected to be at the worksite when installation or testing is being performed and in the office for design and coordination activities. The worksite environment is constantly changing and may include:
- Wet and/or humid conditions
- Moving mechanical parts
- High, precarious places
- Risk of electrical shock
- Outside weather conditions, such as extreme heat and extreme cold
- Moderate to loud noise levels
- Travel, including multi-day trips, to all areas of the United States
