The Lactation Network is hiring a Patient Care Coordinator. This person works closely with new parents and helps to ensure that they are well-prepared for their breastfeeding journey. Responsibilities include speaking directly with patients over the phone, via text and email to inform them on a multitude of topics such as: breast pumps and accessories offered, lactation services, and insurance coverage.
We are a small, tight-knit, purpose-driven organization with aggressive growth goals in 2022 and beyond. We don’t have all the answers and we don’t expect you to, either. We do expect you to be curious, hardworking, and striving to be your best self.
Breakdown of the role
Patient Communication (70%) As the first point of contact, you’re dedicated to providing exceptional customer service, via phone or email, to our members and providers by helping them navigate the world of digital care.
Problem Solving (20%) Ability to develop creative solutions to solve patient problems, to stay calm under pressure, and to put customers at ease.
Record Handling (10%) Ability to move through database systems quickly and efficiently while maintaining a high attention to detail. What you’ll do
Contact patients to obtain insurance, demographic and situational information
Communicate with patients via telephone, text and email to provide advice and answer any questions they might have on lactation services or breast pump options
Ability to use discretion and good judgment in responding to questions by patients, providers, and other professional personnel
Ensure we communicate in a timely manner with patients and guide them through the process in the most seamless way possible
Educate patients about breast pumps, accessories and lactation services; as well as discussing insurance coverage for these services
Perform a number of functions within Salesforce to process lactation visit requests and breast pump orders
Connect TLN Lactation Consultants with lactating parents
Address questions and concerns from both patients and Lactation Consultants
Work occasional evening and weekend lactation shifts What we expect from you

High School Diploma or equivalent required
Must have strong, empathetic communication skills
Self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively on a team and to take direction
Strong organizational skills, high level of attention to detail, follow through and active listening
Basic knowledge of Office 365 - Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Database (such as Salesforce) navigation and literacy preferred
