Part-Time Leadership Educator- UPDATED: AFTER-SCHOOL CLUB FACILITATORS NEEDED
The Leadership Learning Classroom is an experiential based education service, which offers character and leadership development to students in Colorado. With an emphasis on social and emotional learning, the LLC’s programming challenges students to take positive risks, develop healthy decision-making strategies, and improve communication skills. Active learning techniques are used to engage students across all abilities and backgrounds while encouraging critical thinking, empathy, and courage.
The Leadership Learning Classroom is looking for passionate, empathetic educators who enjoy active lessons and thoughtful conversations with students across a variety of ages. We are currently working with students ranging from grades 1-8 across the greater Jefferson County area and are looking to develop and provide educators with the skills, curriculum, and materials to conduct organic social-emotional programming. With a variety of schools, grades, and programming schedules, we hope to find the right educator-to-school partnerships to fit best into our students and educators lives.
In the past our programs have included daily, semester long electives, immersive full-day class interventions, weekly after-school programs, as well as a variety of other unique uses for the social-emotional work we provide.
During the Fall of the 22/23 school year we are looking for educators interested in being trained on organic social-emotional learning principles and co-teaching/teaching up between 1 and 4 after school clubs in the Jefferson County area. -Encourage each group member to treat others the way they would want to be treated
-Give students the benefit of the doubt that they have the ability to understand the social-emotional issues in their lives
-Meet each individual or group "where they are"
-Always maintain and support each child's dignity
Responsibilities:
-Co-teach social-emotional learning and teambuilding curriculum with students grades 3-8.
-Debrief class activity through partner, group, or full-class discussions.
-Review, assess, and communicate class performance with co-teacher and supervisor.
-After developing an understanding of class values and curriculum options, lead classes within 2 months of co-teaching.
Required Education/Work Experience:
-Bachelor's degree from accredited 4-yr university
-At least 1-2 years of experience working with children in an instructive or counseling format
-Experience working with large groups (15 ) recommended but not required
Additional Requirements:
-Criminal background check required for hire
Salary Information:
-25/hr/class for co-teaching programs
-Up to 45/hr/class for solo teaching
All interested applicants should send a resume and references to Gus@leadershiplearningclassroom or feel free to inquire via our website about any questions you might have. Look forward to hearing from you!
