Job Summary:
The Lead Housekeeper Position is responsible for ensuring that guest rooms and bathrooms are cleaned and properly sanitized. This position also assists in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the public areas of the hotel. This is a service oriented position and requires good interpersonal communication skills and friendly professionalism while attending to guest requests. You are required to respect the privacy of our guests and are entrusted with the safekeeping of our guest’s belongings. This is a supervisory position.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform cleaning duties in all guest areas and public areas using appropriate checklists.
- Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to departmental standards
- Ensure housekeeping departmental standards and checklists are followed by housekeeping staff.
- Respond in a timely manner to guests’ special requests for miscellaneous items like cribs, cots, extra towels, etc.
- Maintain inventory of necessary supplies and notify General Manger to replace before inventory is depleted.
- Work quickly and efficiently for a timely readiness of the rooms for guest arrival.
- Communicate room readiness promptly to the Front Desk.
- Report necessary maintenance items.
- Follow departmental policies and procedures.
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Assist other departments when needed to ensure optimum service to guests.
- Ensure that all cleaning tools including mops, brooms, etc. are sanitized at the end of each shift.
- Maintain a friendly and professional attitude when interacting with guests and fellow staff members
- Respond to reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance

- Knowledge of proper cleaning and sanitation procedures

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 5 years experience in hotel housekeeping or related experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand for prolonged periods
- Able to climb ladders
- Able to climb stairs
- Able to walk hallways and perimeter of property
- Able to twist, bend, reach and pull
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
