We are seeking an experienced Cost Estimator for major construction and renovation projects including major rail/transit improvement projects. Position is located in our Queens, NY Office.
Responsibilities
- Project level Cost Estimates
- Prepare and maintain Project Level Estimates through various stages of a project, representing the total project scope
- Utilize Hard Dollar Software
- Develop estimates for the comparison to bids received
- Perform site investigations
- Attend required project and staff meetings
- Develop estimates for Value Engineering change proposal reviews
Qualifications
- 5–10 years’ experience in Cost Estimating
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technology related field, or equivalent
- Thorough knowledge of Railroad Construction practices is preferable
- Experience with review of Drawings and Contract Specifications
- Must be able to effectively communicate, possess good interpersonal skills and meet deadlines
- Thorough knowledge of computer applications as it relates to Estimation-Hard Dollar or equivalent and MS Office
