Tax Office Administrator
Small and expanding Red Bank Financial Services firm looking for a highly motivated and bright individual to join our team and grow with us!
Initial duties are to assist our Director of Tax with tax return preparation for the upcoming season. This role could include client Tax Preparation as well as data entry & maintenance of our tax return software and CRM systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform data entry of banking and expense information into accounting software
- Assure filing completion per client folder by gathering clients tax form printouts and documentation backup scans
- Collecting relevant financial records, including pay stubs and income statements
- Inputting data from financial records into tax return software or databases
This role will transition into an Office Administrative duty when the tax season subsides
Duties and Responsibilities
- Carrying out day-to-day organizational tasks and facilitating efficient communication across the entire office
- Building client relationships to help promote and expand the business
- Managing and maintaining office calendars
- Collaborating with financial managers and other team members to successfully execute various operational tasks
- Updating client relationship management (CRM) database
- Answering or transferring phone calls and taking messages for select staff members
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong leadership skills, outstanding organizational skills including time management and strategic thinking
- Experience with various forms of office software and equipment
- Ability to work with staff across multiple departments
- Proficiency with common tax preparation, word processing and spreadsheet software applications
- Excellent client service skills, including patience and flexibility
- Keen attention to detail
- Tax and financial literacy
Education and Training Preferences
- Associate or bachelor's degree - preferably in accounting, finance, or another relevant field
- Completed coursework in tax preparation, accounting, bookkeeping, business finance and other relevant topics
- Word Processing and spreadsheet programs
- Industry specific terminology and practices
Experience Preferences
- On-the-job work experience in related fields
- 1 or 2 years of previous work experience in customer service, administrative support, accounting, or another relevant field
- Experience in previous tax seasons
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
