Marmon is now looking for a Senior Accountant with a service-minded work ethic to support our Financial Reporting team. This individual will be responsible for a wide range of financial reporting tasks, provide key accounting support, and participate in related projects. Reporting directly to the Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting Manager at the corporate office, this is an essential role with the potential to create meaningful improvements for the organization. *** Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States; employment sponsorship will NOT be provided. *** What You'll Do: Assist in preparing the consolidated financial statements, and perform financial statement analysis Coordinate consolidated ASC 842 lessee accounting Support the monthly close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and other tasks Prepare quarterly reporting for Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. Review data submitted by businesses in support of the consolidation process to ensure quality and accuracy Monitor and resolve intercompany variances Serve as a liaison with the Corporate Tax department, providing reporting, preparing journal entries and reconciliations, and coordinating annual income tax payable transfers Ensure compliance with Marmon accounting policies, internal controls, and U.S. GAAP Provide financial reporting to the U.S. Census Bureau and other agencies Complete special projects and process optimization #LI-DNI What You'll Bring to the Role: B.S. in Accounting or Finance C.P.A. certification (current or in progress) 1-3 years of accounting experience Strong Excel skills, comfortable learning new technology Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting research capabilities High attention to detail and accuracy Sage X3, OneStream and/or Alteryx experience a plus A “roll up your sleeves” attitude and willingness to do the day-to-day work Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal Passion for collaboration, learning, documentation, and process improvement Following receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes as permitted or required by applicable law.
