Marmon is now seeking a Sr. Compliance Paralegal to support our corporate compliance program, including anti-bribery FCPA due diligence for third party intermediaries, ethical sourcing supplier due diligence and sanctions screening processes. Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, the Sr. Compliance Paralegal will collaborate with Marmon’s in-house legal and compliance department, external counsel and Marmon’s business units to ensure that each of Marmon’s business units comply with Marmon’s compliance policies and processes. The Sr. Compliance Paralegal also will also implement, support and administer Marmon’s pending automated third-party diligence system. This will be a hybrid work role, typically working ~2 days per week in Marmon’s downtown Chicago office and also working from home. The Sr. Compliance Paralegal will be responsible for supporting a variety of compliance matters, including: Third Party Intermediary Anti-Bribery Due Diligence Support risk-based third-party intermediary due diligence procedures for all Marmon business units Maintain a central repository for all documentation related to third-party due diligence, including agreements and certificates of compliance Coordinate FCPA anti-bribery compliance training for medium and high-risk intermediaries, such as international sales agents Oversee the pending implementation of an automated intermediary due diligence system and administer the system once implemented Follow-up with Marmon business units to ensure they have complied with the Marmon policy related to intermediary due diligence Supplier Code of Conduct and Ethical Sourcing Supplier Due Diligence Support Marmon business units in distributing Marmon’s Supplier Code of Conduct and Ethical Sourcing Risk Assessments Coordinate with Marmon business units and Marmon counsel to ensure proper review of Ethical Sourcing Risk Assessments Create repository for same Marmon Compliance Risk Assessments and Marmon Compliance Audits Support Marmon General Counsels in following up with Marmon business units on mitigating compliance risks identified in Marmon Compliance Risk Assessments Assist Marmon General Counsels in responding to and closing out Compliance and Ethics Audits Export Sanctions Screening Software Assist in administering the sanctions screening software as needed #LI-Hybrid What you'll bring to the role: Bachelor’s degree At least five (5) years of paralegal experience, preferably in a law firm and/or a corporate setting Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail, superior organizational skills and analytical skills, high reliability and consistent follow-through on tasks Prior experience in administration of corporate compliance programs and systems is preferred Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Proven success in managing, organizing and completing multiple tasks and priorities Excellent ability to communicate both orally and in writing, including communications with internal clients as well as external counsel Strong critical thinking and issue spotting skills Approachable, positive, energetic and proactive nature Strong ethics and professional integrity with the ability to exercise discretion and handle confidential data and information in an appropriate manner Excellent skills in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Following receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes as permitted or required by applicable law.
