Job Summary
The construction Scheduler at TMG will be assigned to the New York City School
Construction Authority. This TMG employee will report to the NYCSCA and be responsible for providing expertise in project controls, scheduling, and schedule analysis. They will ensure that projects are carried out within the project specific timeframe.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, develop and coordinate CPM schedules for all phases of construction on capital projects from Planning, Design, Construction and Project Close-out.
- Develop and maintain master program schedule, including managing and tracking project.
- Prepare a Basis of Schedule that outlines the scope, constraints, exceptions, format, in accordance with project requirements.
- Review construction design drawings and specifications.
- In consultation with design, construction management and other project stakeholders, prepares CPM scheduling activities and develops appropriate logic relationships and activity durations.
- Performs bottom-up resource and cost loading of schedule activities when required. Prepares CPM schedule reports indicating the critical path, total float, milestones, constraints, etc.
- Working with the design and construction management teams, performs regular on-going schedule updates and maintenance, including assistance to the project controls staff for determining earned value management
- Required to analyze baseline schedule to ensure the construction execution approach aligns with the design, specifications, and contract / lease
- Schedule Change Review of change orders
- Conducts technical schedule reviews and analyses contractor schedule submissions, tracking monthly delay impacts to the baseline schedule and assessing responsibility of delays
- Develops summary schedule analysis reports to be presented to project management staff
- Required to maintain the Primavera P6 database, review database structures and perform monthly database
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in from an accredited college or university with a major in architecture, construction management, engineering, environmental services or related course work, and
- Three (3) years minimum experience in the scheduling of construction projects, new rehab and additions, and/or
- A satisfactory combination of education and experience.
- Experience in the developing of logical sequencing of the work, contract durations and phasing.
- Ability and the understanding to fully utilize the computer program Primavera /Expedition.
- Experience in the review and analysis of claims, time extensions, and impact on costs.
- Ability to conduct technical schedule reviews and analysis
- Strong oral and written communication skills
