Job Description


The Hospitality Manager is required to oversee our front of house client service offering.

This includes managing our Runners and Receptionists, the catering of our clients, assuring regular maintenance of the suites, as well as for providing suggestions and ideas for development within these areas.

The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills and sound judgment, and be able to work well with employees and clients at all levels. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to react and adapt to a very fast-paced working environment.

This is a key client service role designed to ensure we are providing a bespoke experience and the highest level of service to all of our clients across the whole business.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspire and manage client service team of runners, barista, and front desk reception to reach and maintain The Mill’s standard.
  • Maintain and update runner training guides and provide training in hospitality and client interaction to ensure their work is at the standard required and they understand the vision and their role in the overall client experience.
  • Create weekly schedule for direct reports.
  • Suggest and implement areas of improvement for the client service function.
  • Work with Director of Ops/Managing Director to plan and execute staff and client events.
  • Help with practical delivery of client gifts and swag.
  • Oversee daily studio presentation to the highest standards.
  • Identify and purchase catering equipment as required.
  • Ensure office sundry inventories are up to date and stocked.
  • Manage the daily client food and beverage offerings with Director of Ops direction.
  • Manage day to day catering for both clients and staff.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of food safety and health hygiene.
  • Work alongside Director of Ops to ensure that client and staff refreshments and food are constantly improved and updated with fresh, local, and healthy options.
  • Maintain Runners’ program – hire entry level candidates who have aspirations to work in the VFX industry and help provide a growth path to their desired artistry/trade.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction is maintained.
  • Maintain client database to track gifts, events, and celebrations throughout the year.
  • Support Marketing, Sales, and Learning & Development departments on their event requirements and setup.
  • Manage Catering and Sundries budgets.

Qualifications
  • 4 years experience in one or more of the following: catering, hospitality industry, event planning, or a service industry.
  • Experience managing, mentoring, and motivating a team.
  • Experience working in a creative agency environment or boutique hotel is an advantage.
  • A collaborative management style, with a calm approach under high pressure situations.
  • Effective communication skills, with an ability to act as a liaison between key service areas and departments.
  • The ability to creatively recommend ways to problem-solve issues and encourage team cohesion.
  • Ability to act as an ambassador for the team, both internally and externally, with a knack for sharing information to achieve team and company objectives.
  • Organization skills and ability to be flexible to switch priorities at a moment’s notice are added bonuses.

Additional Information


The pay for this full-time staff position is: $85,000 which is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and pursuant to the California Pay Transparency Law.
