Residential & Multi Family Architect
A rapidly growing architectural firm in the northern Dallas-Fort Worth area that specializes in mid- to high-end
residential projects as well as multi-family projects and is currently seeking a motivated and creative Residential Architect with a minimum of 10
years’ experience. Hand drawing and sketching skills are a requirement. The ideal candidate will be able to
read and follow sketches from the Lead Designer and take a project to completion.
Major Functional Responsibilities:
- Check own work for completeness, accuracy and the fulfillment of established company standards
- Work from drawings, sketches, scanned images and/or specifications
- Manage multiple computer files in a Windows environment (DWG, DWF, PDF)
- Exhibit organizational skills
- Display product knowledge
Key Duties:
- Read and interpret design and construction documents
- Develop and coordinate detailed design concepts
- Resolve complex design/technical issues and provide guidance to team
- All other job-related duties as assigned
Desired Candidate Qualifications:
- Extensive and progressive well rounded design experience in residential work (at least 15 years)
- Ability to layout floor plans, roof plans, exterior & interior elevations
- Extensive experience with AutoCAD
- Architectural licensed In Texas
- Experience in home building helpful
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and interpret verbal and written instructions
- Demonstrate ability to manage production of multiple drawings and projects at the same time and the ability to pay attention to details while producing quality product
- Ability to work with limited supervision, prioritize and meet deadlines in stressful situations
- Timely completion of projects, makes time for unplanned assignments, adapts to changing priorities
- Demonstrate ability to use AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat, MS Excel, MS Word and general computer skills;
Photoshop skills are a plus
- Code compliance using current State and Local codes a plus
- Respects all members; solicits others’ opinions; supports and complies with team decisions; shares useful information
