We are seeking an innovative and highly motivated Technical Designer on a contract basis to help support our customer's business needs.

What you’ll do:
Produce 2-dimensional graded patterns from concepts provided by the design and development organizations that accurately reflect design intent and achieve the correct fit.
Provide technical recommendations to design and develop staff to create consistency of construction and to ensure that all details are commercially viable with the factories and are the most cost-effective.
Assist in the development of fit standards for a category or product group Assists with development documentation for assigned styles.
Assist in the creation of tech packs.
Builds knowledge of the company, processes, and customers.
Solves a range of straightforward problems.
Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures.
Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction Business Expertise.
Understands the key business drivers; uses this knowledge in their own work.
Expands conceptual knowledge in own discipline and broaden skills in Delivering Solutions.
Identifies and solves a range of problems in straightforward situations; analyzes possible solutions and assesses each using standard procedures.

Assists in controlling costs related to own work Brand Protection/Promo.
Performs work in support of brand plans.
Links daily work with the company mission.
Participates in initiatives, programs, or products with low visibility.
Ensures actions protect company image and limit risks.
Actions impacting company image require management oversight and are constrained by policies.
Coordinates the product creation process from initial concept through commercialization and production for assigned models to lead to on-time delivery and development according to critical dates, product specification, sustainability, performance, and profitability goals.
Collaborates with Design, Brand and Category Management, Merchandising, and Manufacturing, to effectively execute product development goals and deliverables.
Creates and revises appropriate documentation for assigned products.
Ensures all appropriate development documentation is maintained, including product specs and prototype notes.
Tracks and facilitates sampling and prototyping for products.
Identifies and addresses key issues and challenges in construction/manufacturing and plans accordingly to deliver proven and tested products.
Monitors and communicates progress and challenges throughout the product testing process to meet product integrity requirements.
Keeps abreast of market trends, category goals, new technology, and consumer needs throughout the development process and engages appropriately to ensure projects are completed within corporate guidelines and goals for all facets of product creation.

The ideal candidate must have:
2 years of directly relevant work experience.
Knowledge of textile manufacturing and materials development.
Knowledge and experience in own discipline.
Working knowledge in one or more areas of pattern making, grading, marking, construction, and fit.
Experience in project management and problem-solving concepts and application.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with an ability to articulate clear goals and objectives.
Knowledge of product construction concepts, materials, and the product creation life cycle.
Great organizational skills and detail-oriented.
Outstanding communication skills.
Skills in documentation.
Knowledge and experience in own discipline; still acquiring higher-level knowledge and skills

Education:
Bachelor's degree is required.
PhD or Law 1 yr, and Masters 0-3 yrs.

Hours & Location:
M-F, 40 hours/week. This role will be remote while COVID restrictions are in place. The expectation is to be onsite at our Customer’s Beaverton, OR location once it is deemed safe to do so.
