The Sales Manager is responsible for selling vessel groups while cross and up-selling products from our family of companies - Gray Line New Orleans and our 3rd party partners. This position will focus on a variety of markets including meetings, conventions, corporate and social markets. Successful candidate will be detail orientated, self-starters with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Position specific responsibilities:
- Responsible for booking group functions aboard the Steamboat NATCHEZ and Riverboat CITY of New Orleans to all market segments including schools, scouts. reunions and birthdays
- Proactively solicit new business and sell across product lines
- Conduct outbound focus sales calls (domestic and international) and respond to inbound inquiries - online and/or by phone
- Attend networking functions as needed
- Create proposals. contracts, floor plans and event orders
- Communicate between departments - navigation, food & beverage, dispatch and operations as needed
- Develop, update and maintain a client database by engaging with potential clients and maintaining relationships with current clients
- Follow through on charters/events from start to finish, attend/supervise events
- Create weekly and monthly sales activity reports as well as annual sales budgets and goals with Director of Sales
Desired Background
- 3-5 in hospitality, corporate, meeting/convention and/or social market sales
- Experience in catering, DMC, or Incentive Travel desired
- Bachelor's Degree
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient in All Seated (or similar platform)
- Working knowledge of social media platforms
