The Norfolk Companies Multi-family sales division is currently seeking candidates interested in a the role of Project Manager. In the Project Manager role, you will support Account Managers in managing multi-family projects and jobs ensuring product is delivered according to established schedules and managing job inquiries from the end user. Candidates will have prior experience designing and selling kitchen and bath cabinetry as well as experience working on construction sites and with architects on the submittal process.
The Norfolk Companies supplies cabinetry, countertops, and related items to multi family housing projects all over New England and beyond. We work with large general contractors, property management companies, and housing authorities supplying and in some cases installing kitchen and bath related products.
In addition our multi family division, the Norfolk Companies consists of Norfolk Hardware and Home Center, Norfolk Kitchen and Bath, and Northeast Cabinet and Countertop Distributors. Collectively we have approximately 160 employees and growing. We have been in business for over 86 years and are family owned and operated.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a complete and detailed project folder for each jobField measure and adjust shop drawings accordingly
- Place orders into company ERP system.
- Manage calls from the field with regards to install questions, issues, etc.Create shop drawings and submittals to be reviewed and submitted by Account Managers
- Serve as main point of contact between job site contractor and customer and all internal departments. Visit jobsites with multi family sales team account representatives.
- Attend site meetings when requested
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customer, vendor, sales and all internal departments
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Prior experience with residential cabinetry and countertops.
- Experience using 2020 design software, Chief Architect, CAD or equivalent.
- Ability to accurately field measure
- Strong organization skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Solid time management skills and ability to meet simultaneous time lines
- Strong communication and customer service skills via email, phone to a varying customer base
- Ability to work in a team environment with limited supervision
- Ability to assess problems, find root cause and resolve to customer satisfaction
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to use intranet effectively to research product and track shipments.
Education and Experience
- 5 years experience working in the kitchen and bath cabinetry and countertop related industries either in a sales or support role.
- Understanding of pricing, purchasing and vendor relations
- Associate’s degree or equivalent preferred
