Protective Agent Job Description

We are looking for qualified and reliable protective agent to join our security team in a part time and full time capacity. As a protective agent, you will be responsible for patrolling multiple hospital and clinic sites within an assigned area and ensuring the safety of staff, patients, visitors, and property. You will also respond to any incidents or emergencies that may occur and report them to the appropriate authorities. You will carry a weapon and use it only when necessary and in accordance with the law and company policies.

To be successful as a protective agent, you should have prior experience in security or law enforcement, a valid armed security license1, and a clean criminal record. You should also have excellent communication, observation, and decision-making skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You should be able to work in different shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

1To operate as a protective agent in the state of Washington, you must obtain a valid armed security license from the Department of Licensing. The licensing requirements include being at least 21 years old, having a current firearms certificate, passing a background check, and paying the application fee. You must also work for a licensed security guard company and follow the laws and rules for security guards.

Protective Agent Responsibilities:

  • Patrol multiple hospital and clinic sites within an assigned area and monitor for any suspicious or unauthorized activities, persons, or vehicles
  • Check and secure doors, windows, gates, and other access points
  • Enforce the rules and regulations of the hospital and clinic sites and prevent any violations or disturbances
  • Assist staff, patients, and visitors with any security-related issues or requests
  • Respond to any alarms, incidents, or emergencies that may occur and provide assistance or backup as needed
  • Use your weapon only when necessary and in accordance with the law and company policies
  • Report any incidents or issues to the supervisor and the appropriate authorities
  • Maintain a log of your activities and observations
  • Maintain your weapon and other equipment in good condition and report any malfunctions or damages
  • Attend regular training and meetings to update your skills and knowledge

Protective Agent Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years of experience in security or law enforcement
  • Valid armed security license in the state of Washington or able to obtain prior to start
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Clean criminal record and drug test
  • CPR and first aid certification
  • Knowledge of security procedures and protocols
  • Knowledge of the hospital and clinic sites and their surroundings
  • Ability to use a weapon and other security equipment safely and effectively
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with staff, patients, visitors, and authorities
  • Ability to observe and report any suspicious or unusual activities or situations
  • Ability to make sound judgments and decisions in stressful or emergency situations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work in different shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical fitness and stamina to perform the duties of the job

Remuneration and benefits (Full Time)

Scheduling

The number of hours per week that you will work as a protective agent may vary depending on the schedule and needs of the hospital and clinic sites that you will patrol. However, you can expect to work at least 40 hours per week, with the possibility of overtime and extra shifts. You should also be flexible and available to work in different shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. We will try to accommodate your preferences and availability as much as possible, but we also expect you to be committed and reliable.

Equipment

As a protective agent, you will not have to worry about purchasing or maintaining your own operational equipment and uniforms. We will provide you with everything you need to perform your duties, including your weapon, ammunition, holster, belt, vest, radio, earpiece, flashlight, and other accessories. You will also receive a set of uniforms that are comfortable and professional. You will be responsible for keeping your equipment and uniforms in good condition and reporting any issues or damages to the supervisor.

Training

As a protective agent, you will receive ongoing training and support from our dedicated training manager and experienced instructors. You will participate in regular range and weapons qualification sessions to maintain your firearms proficiency and safety. You will also learn how to use and operate various communications equipment and systems that are essential for your job. Our training program will ensure that you are always prepared and confident to handle any situation that may arise.

Pay: $37.00 - $50.00 per hour
