This position supports the mission of the school by working with faculty and students to facilitate the use and integration of technology into the schools curriculum and activities. This role will support the maintenance of the student 1:1 program, as well as teach a computer-science related course, and provide instructional support to teachers wishing to integrate technology into their curriculum.

The School allocates 1.0 FTE to the Educational Technology Coordinator responsibilities and specific responsibilities are distributed based on the FTE assigned to individuals.  This current vacancy is for a .25 (about 10 hours each week) Educational Technology Coordinator. 

Essential Functions Include:

Manage the implementation of Blackbaud LMS

  • Serve as the project manager(s) for the setup and implementation of the Blackbaud LMS. Work includes collaborating with over all project manager and colleagues on the back-end set up of the LMS component, developing and delivering training for teachers and students, serve as a resource for teachers and students.

Support the Student 1:1 Program:

  • Provide ongoing administration of the student 1:1 program by addressing student needs daily. Work may include setting up machines, helping students access loaner devices, and perform spot troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshoot and support all aspects of technology use as well as provide general assistance to faculty questions or issues.
  • Research and purchase A/V equipment, computer hardware and computer software in conjunction with IT department colleagues.

Support Technology Integration

  • Providing leadership and assistance to faculty in determining how best to integrate technology tools into the curriculum, including collaborating on overall curriculum and specific projects or lessons.
  • Collaborate with faculty to evaluate and implement academic technologies and provide formal and informal technology professional development to faculty.
  • Creating and delivering technology orientation to new faculty, students, and parents.
  • Training teachers in setting up and maintaining LMS pages, updating curriculum, and integrating technology in their projects and activities.
  • Serve as a resource for Teachers in any distance learning initiatives.
  • Teaching lessons to grade levels, individual classes, or advisory sections as necessary.
  • Partner with IT department colleagues to provide helpdesk assistance to troubleshoot or support all aspects of technology use in the buildings as well as general assistance with faculty and student questions or issues.

 


Minimum Qualifications:

All candidates must demonstrate a commitment to the schools mission, values, and philosophy, especially related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and environmental sustainability.

A bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.

Demonstrated success with culturally responsive pedagogy.

Experience teaching a diverse student body through a social justice lens.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a similar Educational Technology position.

Experience in presenting information to groups, formally and informally.

Demonstrated maintenance of expertise on education and technology issues and applications and shares this expertise as appropriate with faculty and students.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.

Experience with teaching Computer Science, Robotics, Art or Electronics.
