The NOW, a new concept massage boutique, was founded on the principle that self-care is a necessity not a luxury; a principle we stand behind not only for our guests but our team as well.  We believe the power of touch can inspire, transform and heal.  We are committed to cultivating a professional positive team environment, one of collaboration, mutual respect, kindness, empathy, and a gentle reminder of the importance of self-care.  

We are a husband and wife team bringing years of experience in hospitality and marketing to our new entrepreneurial endeavor with The NOW.   

The NOW has embarked on a national franchise expansion, giving us the opportunity to open our second location in the vibrant neighborhood of Worthington.  We are honored to bring the thoughtfully crafted menu with customizable enhancements, healing products and singular design to serve as an oasis from today's fast paced digital society to the Columbus market.  Our goal is to offer high-quality, affordable massage services in an inspired setting reminiscent of a beachside oasis.

Job Description:

As the representative for the brand's second Columbus location, you have a unique opportunity to set the tone and pace for boutiques to come!

The General Manager reports to the boutique owners, and is a leader responsible for excellent customer service, the guidance and mentoring of staff teams including Experience Guides (front desk) and Massage Therapist. This position oversees seamless operations of the business unit while adhering to budget and financial goals. The GM is responsible for projecting a positive image within the boutique and encouraging a culture & atmosphere of teamwork that emphasizes guest service and satisfaction.

Guest Services:

  • Provide top level guest service for all constituents, external and internal.
  • Address guest questions and survey results and other data to identify areas of improvement.
  • Respond to customer inquiries or complaints with urgency in a timely manner.
  • Lead by example in promoting services, enhancements, membership, and retail, as well as special events, promotions and/or discounts available. 

Staff Management:

  • Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with employees and ensure employees do the same within the team.
  • Schedule staff or supervise scheduling. Coordinate schedules to maximize usage and efficiency.
  • Ensure staff understand job responsibilities, performance expectations, guest service standards, and corporate policies and guidelines.
  • Able to perform, with a high level of excellence, all duties and responsibilities as required of the Experience Guide team.
  • Consistently assess employee performance and provide constructive feedback to champion continued growth of team members. Document and deliver appropriate corrective action as needed if an employee is not performing to company standards and/or is in violation of company guidelines and policies.
  • Train staff in the use or sale of products, programming, or services.
  • Develop staff service or retail goals and guide staff in goal achievement. 

Operations:

  • Adhere to boutique budgets and financial goals.
  • Inventory products and order new supplies.
  • Monitor operations to ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, or hygiene standards. Check boutique equipment to ensure proper functioning. Direct facility maintenance or repair.
  • Perform accounting duties, such as recording daily cash flow, preparing bank deposits, or generating financial statements.
  • Monitor and prepare payroll for Experience Guides and Massage Therapists
  • Recruit, interview, and hire employees
  • Verify staff credentials, such as educational and certification requirements ensuring all remain current.
  • Collaborate with owners during regular meetings regarding any improvements.

Position Requirements:

Excellent guest service skills for both internal and external guests, and a passion for relationship building. Enjoy working with people with a friendly and outgoing personality. Excellent communication and listening skills. Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to multitask while managing high-volume business with complex scheduling. Ability to be efficient and productive in a fast-paced environment with strong skills in day-to-day operations. Must be a team leader and enjoy mentoring people.
