Job Title: Content & Editorial Specialist Department: Arts and Sciences | Marketing and Communications As a member of the College of Arts and Sciences Marketing and Communications (ASCMarcomm) Team, the Content and Editorial Specialist is responsible for developing informative, engaging and strategy-based content. This position will actively contribute to content production and marketing initiatives, including by creating storytelling opportunities and producing those stories through various formats and channels. This position will lead content development in various areas and be highly collaborative, prioritizing a high volume of work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The role requires a strong writer and editor who can craft audience-centric storytelling and marketing content that touches disciplines across the Arts and Sciences, including the arts; humanities; social, behavioral, natural and mathematical sciences. This position also leads projects and campaigns, consults regularly with college departments, centers and offices, and works to measure the impact of content marketing. An additional focus of this position is video production, as this position is responsible for using video as a medium to advance storytelling and messages across web, social and other digital channels. Required: Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing or similar combination of education and experience. 4 years related job experience including writing, editing, marketing. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience and expertise in writing, editing, knowledge of AP style. Desired: The ideal candidate will have experience using Adobe Creative Cloud, including Premiere Pro, web content management systems, (especially Drupal), experience with video editing, social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram), and email systems (such as Mailchimp, Salesforce). The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and project management skills. Additional Information: The target hiring range for this position is $42,700-$56,900. Ohio State is focused on enhancing the health and safety of our community. Therefore, the university is requiring every student, faculty and staff member to be compliant with Ohio State’s COVID-19 vaccine requirement. By the start of employment, all newly hired employees must receive at least the first dose of a two-dose series or a single dose of a one-dose series COVID-19 vaccination. Individuals who choose a two-dose series vaccination must receive the second dose within 45 days of their start date. Proof of vaccination will be required at time of hire. Candidates may request a medical or religious exemption from the vaccination requirement. Campus employees may also request an exemption for personal reasons. Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, College of Medicine or OSUP Employees are not eligible for personal exemptions. All exemptions are subject to Ohio State’s approval and subject to change, including revocation, due to legal and regulatory requirements.
