What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Assistant Extension Fayette County position at The Ohio State University?
Works as a part of the Extension team in Fayette County to provide office services related programming, records, and resource management. Operates in team environment and performs word-processing; copying and filing; correspondence and mailing; educational publications inventory and receptionist duties. Position requires working 40 hours per week with Tuesday and Thursday mornings (3-4 hours each morning) at the CD Educator’s location which is in downtown Washington Court House, Ohio.
- Distribute correspondence and mail to appropriate staff member and deliver outgoing mail to appropriate carrier.
- Inventory and order office supplies, 4-H publications, office publications.
- Assist with creating and maintaining posts for the OSU Extension, Fayette County website and social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, etc.). Maintain all webpages and social media outlets to reflect current accurate information in accordance with university.
30% • Assist in producing, copying, and organizing program material. Examples include prospective membership, club, and advisor packets, judging table folders, project winners’ sheets, all items related to State Fair participation.
- Assist in program participation recognition. Examples include but not limited to prepare end of year member and volunteer certificates, maintain inventory, and distribute member year achievement pins, and printing certificates and other recognition documents.
- Support all Extension programming efforts as requested. Examples include but are not limited to creating program flyers and promotional material that follow University & College branding; event registration and participant management; and preparing and sending mail/email correspondence.
20% • Spend 6 – 8 hours per week working from the CD Educator’s office.
- Examples but not limited to helping the Educator with program preparations, scheduling, filing, mail, and promotional materials, etc.
10% • Assist with collecting income from sales, registration fees, and writing receipts for clientele.
- Maintain meeting room schedule for the Agriculture Center (4 agencies) and office schedules.
- Office liaison with Fayette County Maintenance for maintenance issues in the office or Ag. Center.
- Participate in office stewardship roles.
