Job Title: Postdoctoral Scholar Department: FAES | ATI Horticultural Technologies The College of Food Agriculture and Environment Sciences, Ohio State Agricultural Technical Institute is seeking a Post-Doctoral Researcher to support a collaborative research project in hydroponics with USDA -ARS. The Post-Doctoral Researcher will be expected to conduct research and provide technical assistance to the PIs. The Research project will be based on sustainable substrate selection and nutrient optimization for hydroponic crop production and the position will involve planning and designing experiments and organizing research and extension activities with PIs. This position will be responsible for coordinating multiple experiments; collecting and analyzing data and writing manuscripts and reports; running and maintaining instruments used in plant physiological research, such as growth chambers, photosynthesis meters, and other analytical instruments; preparation of presentations and attending, participating, or presenting at meetings, seminars, and conferences as needed; This position is available for two years and is located at Dr. Samarakoon’s lab OSU-Wooster campus. Additional Information: Ph.D. in plant or horticulture science or any related discipline with a background in advanced plant physiology is required. Good oral/written communication skills Experience in working with crops in controlled environment agriculture or hydroponic crop production is desirable. The successful completion of a university background check is required.
