Detailed Job Description:
Under general supervision of the TV Program Director, the On-Air Promotions Producer is responsible for creating compelling promotion content for WOSU Public Media. Develops, creates and produces high quality content for promotion, on-air membership drives and underwriting across multiple media platforms. This includes, but is not limited to, on-air promotion for multiple TV stations, on-line services, underwriting credits for TV, producing content for on-air membership drives and promotional video for public events. Maintains the brand and image for WOSU TV broadcast services. This position will work with the TV Program Director, Marketing Director and TV Traffic Manager in implementing a unified approach to all on- air promotion. Ingest, log and customize weekly promotions, update weekly on-air billboards- Writing and editing custom promotions- Collaborate with the underwriting department to produce, shoot, and edit on-air underwriting spots. -Collaborate with membership department to to produce and edit on-air content in support of membership drives. – Act as production assistant of video promotional shoots. - Develop and maintain TV promotions highlight elements for the WOSU TV web page. - Lead the TV programming monthly on-air promotion strategy meeting and aid in administrative work.
Duties Description:
60% Produces and edits promotional announcements for scheduled use on-air
for all WOSU T V broadcast services working with TV Programming, Marketing,
Communications, Development and WOSU Radio Programming.
10% Assists TV Program Director in planning and scheduling promotional
announcements for on-air and other projects as needed.
5% Maintains and updates inventory for promotions. Monitor conferences within
PBS, including The Source, for information pertinent to promotions and take action where
appropriate.
5% Works to maintain TV web promotions on wosu.org.
20% Works with Membership Director in producing WOSU TV on-air fundraising look and events.
Experience:
College B.A. degree with 3 years related work experience; Proficiency in Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro editing with strong knowledge of one or more of the following Final Cut Studio Applications and other motion graphic software (DVD Studio Pro, Apple Motion, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop). Responsible for maintaining Final Cut systems. Strong knowledge of MAC OS. Ability to integrate audience research data from Nielsen. Basic knowledge of Videography and lighting techniques. Strategic thinker possessing excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently under established and self prioritized deadlines. Possess competent decision making skills. Basic understanding of broadcast management software, knowledge of ProTrack traffic system a plus. Preference may be given to those with a working understanding of PBS programming operations procedures.
