What is classical education?

A classical education delivers rich content which fosters a natural love for learning and thinking. Students learn about historical events, characters, stories, fables, myths, scientific facts, and mathematical proofs. They read the classics as whole books in great depth and learn to approach books both with motivation to learn and courage to question.

The Opportunity:

This is a hybrid remote position with a mix of work-from-home, in person meetings and travel within FL. Residing within reasonable driving distance to Naples is required.

The systems and data specialist is a salaried, exempt position with a 12-month work schedule. Salary will be set annually on a performance-based schedule. The systems and data specialist will report to the IT Director.

The systems and data specialist performs administrative work in the operational area of the organization. The systems and data specialist is responsible to implement and train corporate and school operations employees on the organization’s systems. The systems and data specialist’s essential duties and responsibilities are as follows:

Training, Technical Assistance and Project Management

  • Perform assignments related to training and technical assistance projects as it relates to operational systems and platforms.
  • Provide guidance to the corporate office and school academic and operations teams throughout Optima’s network of academies including: Developing, implementing, and evaluating technical assistance and systems training plans (in person, virtual, modular); Developing and implementing systems training documents; Documenting and tracking systems training activities; Developing and refining procedures for knowledge bases; Overseeing subject matter expert deployment and execution of systems training and technical assistance tasks.
  • Some of the systems specifically supported include: Activities & Club Management Systems; Asset & Technology Management System; CRM System; Dismissal Systems; Enrollment System; FDOE Grant “Charter Schools Project Tracking” Online System; Florida Department of Education Data Sources; Food Service Management Systems; Google Workspace Administration; Group Organizing System; Lesson Planning Systems; Learning System; Mass Email System; Microsoft Active Directory Services; Online Training System; Panic Alert Systems; Payment Systems; Policy, Procedure & Process Management System; School Communication Technology & Notification System; School Information System; Student Assessment System; Substitute Teacher Management System; Survey System; Teacher Certification Systems; Teacher & Classroom Observation Evaluation System; Visitor Management System; Any other systems as assigned.
  • Review and propose revisions to website, current publications, materials, etc., on topics related to operations systems.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the operations training programs and systems.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Data and Systems Management

  • Collect and organize data related to operations training and technical assistance.
  • Manage proprietary Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and databases.
  • Ensure strong data management skills and excellent implementation throughout the school network.
  • Management and oversight of Datacenter equipment. Including, but not limited to, Network Switches, Firewalls and servers.
  • Tier 2 technical support when needed

Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent communications skills, attention to detail, computer proficiency, and the ability to multitask under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in training and technical assistance design and/or delivery.
  • Experience in organizing, developing and leading trainings.
  • Proficiency hosting webinars through online platforms such as Zoom or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge and experience in training adults.
  • Excellent writing skills with a proven ability to develop training curricula, write resources and develop materials in a variety of formats.
  • Strong oral communication skills, and well-developed writing skills.
  • Ability to think analytically; define and thoroughly document tasks; conceptualize, plan, and complete major elements of project work.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel as required.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required. Proficiency in use of the Internet to gather information.
  • Proficiency in Enterprise network systems and technologies
  • Proficiency in MS Directory Services

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Five years related experience and/or training.
  • High school diploma.
  • Customer service experience.
