Your Role in the Company
The Marketing Director is responsible for promoting the services of the assisted living and independent living with potential residents, families and potential referral sources including representatives from area hospitals, home health and other health care organizations.
This team member supports the mission of the community by generating new admissions for the organization to serve. The team member coordinate with referral sources, insurance companies and others to assure a smooth transition of care for those in need of skilled nursing services. The Marketing Representative also conducts educational programs, marketing events and community outreach activities for area health and community organizations.
Elements of the Position
- Contacts potential referral sources / contacts to promote the services of the organization Cultivates, develops and enhances care relationships with hospitals, nursing homes, ALFs, physicians and other referral sources. Maintains regular contact with these staff to meet patient/family of any identified referrals.
- Follows up on referrals to educate potential admissions / families on services of the facility
- May conduct on site assessment of referrals to determine care needs
- Facilitates the transition of new admissions from the referring facility / source, assuring thorough communication and continuity of care;. Assists in obtaining records needed to support a smooth transition of care for new admissions.
- Maintains appropriate and effective communication with other team members to support a successful admission process
- Contacts local associations and participates in community functions; promotes awareness of the facility in the community
- Participates in / contributes to the development of the facility marketing plan
- Prepares reports on Agency activity for the Administrator.
- Maintains accurate tracking of referrals and territory management system to track efforts.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of the community’s health care market, competition, consumer demands and governmental policies that influence the agency’s goals.
- Completes intake information with new admissions as needed.
- Negotiate with third party payers to obtain authorization for needed services & supplies.
- Communicates accurately and completely to referral sources, facility staff, patients and families, utilizing positive interpersonal skills
- Attends seminar and community resources regarding issues on the health care industry.
- Other duties as assigned
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Works indoors in Agency office, hospitals and other referral sources; travels to/from facility and marketing locations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field or an LPN or RN with 2 years of experience in a skilled nursing setting.
- Minimum of 1-2 years experience in the health care field.
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of area market for skilled nursing services; familiarity with, case managers, discharge planners in the area market
- Ability to work unsupervised, exercise discretion and use independent judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Friendly, approachable demeanor
- Extraordinary time management and organizational skills required.
