Position: Golf Shop Salesperson
Department: Golf Operations
Reports To: Head Golf Professional

Position Purpose
The golf shop assistant is responsible for assisting the retail operation of the Golf Shop. They work daily to ensure the shop operation is functioning efficiently and that all phases of customer service are exceptional. Use interpersonal skills to promote the game of golf and all types of club events.
Essential Functions
- Provide first-class customer service to members and their guests.
- Work with golf professional staff to control and manage play, and ensure that all members/guests are greeted and checked in upon arrival.
- Promotes daily Golf Shop sales and superior customer relations.
- Works closely with outside staff to coordinate the first point of service.
- Develop and maintain shop displays that match the boutique standard.
- Answers questions concerning club policies and services.
- Work with golf professional staff to enforce rules and regulations governing course usage.
- Any other duties as needed or determined by the Golf Staff.
Other
Regular attendance is expected in conformance with the standards established by The Patriot Golf Club. Due to the cyclical nature of the golf industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, to reflect the business needs of the club.
Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with The Patriot Golf Club rules and regulations for the safe, efficient operation of the club. Employees who violate club rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Ability to communicate with at a high level with members, guests and fellow employees. Provide guest service and follow instructions.
- Strong organization skills, attention to detail and proper record keeping methods.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and provide various reports on a timely basis.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of the game and rules of golf is preferred but not required.
Qualification Standards
Experience
Minimum 6 months experience in retail operations is preferred but not required for the right customer service-driven individual.
Physical Requirements
Lift up to 30 pounds, bend, run or sprint short distances; stand for extended periods of time, able to withstand exposure to heat, cold, and elements of nature.
