JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness at Penn State is seeking a creative Instructional Media Specialist to assist in designing and developing digital and print-based instructional media. This position will collaborate with creative and educational experts across the Clearinghouse to produce specialized multimedia instructional products, including course aids, educational videos, storyboards, and other multimedia assets. Responsibilities: Typical responsibilities for this position could include: Planning, designing, and developing associated educational aids, materials, and websites utilizing computerized graphic design and desktop publishing techniques. Taking complex concepts, reports, and curriculum documents and producing effective visual products. Creating and remediating documents and websites to meet 508 compliance standards. Applying learning theories and evidence-based teaching practices to create effective multimedia products for online, hybrid, and synchronous environments. Utilizing web-based media and development tools to create engaging and visually appealing online courses. Education and Experience: This position typically requires an Associate's Degree or higher and 2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will have the following: Demonstrable experience with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Acrobat, Illustrator, and InDesign A background in producing visually compelling graphics products Experience combining learning theory and graphic design theory to create effective learning products Experience working with learning and content management systems Excellent verbal and written communication skills This position is funded for one year with the possibility of renewal for a second year. This position has the potential to work 100% remotely. Candidate selection is dependent upon the successful completion of background clearances per Penn State policy.
