Role and Responsibilities
The Laboratory Technician oversees the activities of the laboratory and ensures its smooth and efficient functioning.
- Receives and enters work orders and accompanying materials including impressions, models, and comments.
- Provides training to the Surgical Assistants in relation to immediate conversion of fixed hybrid prostheses.
- Ensures the accurate and timely manufacture of prosthetics on a patient driven schedule.
- Communicates with the dentist to plan, design, and fabricate dental prostheses for individual patients.
- Prepares plaster models and molds from dental impressions.
- Inspects dental laboratory equipment and performs minor maintenance and needed.
- Works with team members to optimize the patient/referral experience, surgical outcomes, and operations of the practice.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a life science or related field preferred.
- Previous clinical experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to organize and coordinate diverse activities.
- Familiarity with state and federal guidelines.
