Hourly mining workforce
Support mine manager/geologist in shared responsibility for Mining & Crushing, and Stripping. Provide support and direction towards accomplishing established objectives concerning Safety, Environment, Quality, and low-cost production.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Help in developing capital request concerning stripping, equipment needs and other projects for future improvement.
Support the direction of stripping, mining and crushing activities in accordance with the mining plan.
Work with Plant Management to develop alternative operational strategies for continuous improvement.
Monitor and streamline Mining & Crushing operations to optimize utilization, throughput, and cost.
Support sustainable development policies and procedures for continued improvement of EHS functions to include reclamation and permitting.
Provide management team with data on operational performance, trends, and direction.
Must work directly with Lands Dept, Quality, and Lab to achieve the established targets.
Demonstrate safety compliance with regulatory agencies (MSHA)
Conduct regular area inspections and safety audits to ensure safe operations to include ground control, PPE, traffic management, etc.
Assist geology with ore blending, blast layout, sample shots, survey and GeoSLAM
Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Attributes Requirements
Strong computer skills preferred.
Strong interpersonal and persuasive skills required
Able to meet demanding deadlines
Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
Understanding of financial principles
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Associate’s degree in civil engineering, or related field preferred.
3-5 years experience in earthwork activity including operation of heavy equipment
Physical requirements are those of a standard office & mine site activity
Sitting (including driving) 50% of time and walking/standing 50% of time.
