Pay Rate: $95,000 to $110,000 per year
The Operations Director will provide direct oversight to the Directors of: Facilities and Security, Kroc Information Technology, Marketing and Membership Department Managers. The Operations Director, under the direction of the Kroc Administrator, is responsible to ensure that efficient management of the Kroc Center is carried out by all department heads and staff.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in in Business, Public Administration, Sports and Recreation Management or related field required
- Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience: As Director of Operations and Business or Administrator of a comprehensive indoor recreational, sports, educational, and/or entertainment facility.
- Must have a strong commitment to promote the mission of The Salvation Army
- Must have keen ability to manage a wide variety projects, priorities and programs in a constantly changing environment, often at the same time
- Must practice effective communication with staff, Administrative Team and the public
- Must be able to model and facilitate team relationships in advancing the mission of the Kroc Center
- Experience providing administration for a non-profit multi-human service organization preferred
- Must be willing to work occasional nights and weekends
Duties & Responsibilities
- As a key member of the Administrative Team, the Operations Director must ensure that the mission and goals of the Kroc are accomplished. This includes offering high quality programs, sound fiscal management, and effective promotion to the community and maximization of the facility. In doing so, the Operations Director will be responsible for:
- Assisting the Administrator with the development and implementation of budgets
- Reviewing financial statements and data, utilizing financial data to improve profitability, planning effective strategies for the financial well-being of the Kroc Center
- Ensuring staff enforce member and user safety and quality building maintenance and safety
- Ensuring programming is innovative, cutting edge and relevant to the community
- Building strong membership base and growing financial support
- Evaluating and directing venue/business to ensure compliance with Salvation Army policy and the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center (RJKCCC) mission while also optimizing financial and service performance.
- Establishing methods for quality control that evaluate work performed by staff to ensure consistent high quality Guest service.
- Working with the Administrator to improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals. Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures.
- Providing leadership and oversight to the Department Managers in the day-to-day operational activities of the Kroc campus.
- Providing supervision of the Managers of the following departments – Facilities & Security, Membership Services, I.T., Marketing and Memberships/Rentals.
- Working with on-site (Managers), discussing and resolving problems that occur.
- Providing leadership and supervision to Managers regarding purchases, supply and equipment needs, Human Resource requirements, staffing needs, quality control, preventive maintenance and problem solving within the policies and procedures of The Salvation Army
- Working in cooperation with other departments within the Kroc, the Kroc Corps and DHQ
- Meetings and Communication.
- Meet regularly with the Administrative Team to dialogue on vision, needs, trends, priorities and actions
- Meet regularly with Department Managers to ensure mission compliance, establish growth plans, monitor efficiencies in program and staffing and resolve problems
- Attend all scheduled staff meetings and management team meetings
- The Operations Director will keep the Kroc Administrator abreast of all critical issues and decisions relating to his/her area of responsibility
- Fundraising
- In coordination with DHQ Advancement, build and maintain relationships with potential donors
- Reviewing all contracts with vendors and professional service agreements, as well as contracts/agreements for long-term space rental and give appropriate recommendations process through normal Salvation Army approval channels with approval from Kroc Administrator.
- Adhere to and prepare for the Kroc Standards review.
- Complete the certificate in Kroc Center Leadership program offered by The Salvation Army
- Perform other duties within the scope of the position.
